"I have never thought having a daughter living with a family we did not know would be such as rich experience. The organization's credibility gave us confidence to live the experience. Furthermore, receiving a son from another country, watching how he learned to develop his language skills, how he adapted himself and integrated to our family was very nice too…”

Her little sister wants to be with her the whole time and the little sister treats hers as she would know her since long time ago. When I just talked to her on the phone, she told me the house is so beautiful and her mom is so special with her…”

"Hello everybody, I am Paola and I am in Venezuela for about 4 months already. How to describe my experience? It has no words! It is wonderful, incredible, fantastic, unforgettable and truly special. I believe that nothing in my life could be like this experience, since this is something that makes you mature and it makes you expect a better world. My advice: to whoever that can make a trip with AFS, do it! because nothing gives you this experience. There might be hard moments, but we need to go ahead and to continue with every moment of this adventure. I am with a very special family who makes me feel part of them and I want to stay here because I think this is a wonderful country!" Kisses to all... Viva AFS Venezuela! |

"I think the most important point of the organization is the way the volunteers think and feel about the organization. It is a permanent contact with people from different parts of the world and that make us think and behave differently…”

"The Barquisimeto Local chapter gained a prize so that one of the volunteers could attend to the Andean Caribbean Regional meeting 2005 to be celebrated in Costa Rica. I was not very enthusiastic to participate on the raffle, since I had to prepare so many things for my daughters 15 year’s birthday celebration Nevertheless, my local chapter’s friends included me in the raffle and surprisingly I won the trip. I traveled, I lived a beautiful intercultural experience in that country and besides this, my daughter made her trip of 15 year’s birthday to Costa Rica as well "
